An aquarium thermometer strip helps you to determine the temperature of your aquarium water. When you need to keep  your tropical freshwater aquarium safe and maintained, you will have to take the help of an aquarium thermometer strip. These strips are available in various price ranges. The size of this thermometer is not quite significant and all thermometers give the same readings.

The fish and other marine creatures living inside an aquarium need a particular temperature of the water to survive. They can get very sensitive to changing temperatures and can also die. Some creatures scuttle back and forth on the floor the tank if the temperature changes.

You need to maintain a certain suitable temperature inside your tank if you want your tropical fish to live. An aquarium thermometer strip is an easy-to-use device that comes in various price ranges, sizes and shapes.

All thermometers are generally easy to read. They come with a scale display and some higher end ones come with a digital screen display. You should always keep the thermometer exactly in front of your eyes while reading it. Avoid glancing at it sideways. Aquarium thermometers have a green mark on the scale. The temperature should be inside the mark. This indicates that the heater is working properly. If the temperature goes outside the mark, it indicates that the temperature is too high or too low.

Aquarium thermometers are easy to install. Even if you go for high-end models, they are quite easy to use. The aquarium thermometer strip is relatively cheaper than a normal thermometer. The Marina Minerva is a good device that is available at just $1.99. This device must be installed on the exterior of the glass just like floating thermometers. You need to make sure that this thermometer is clearly visible to you to read the temperature. This device will allow you to determine the temperature of the water in either Celsius or Fahrenheit.  It can be easily mounted on the outer side of your tank by sticking a backing paper. It can read temperatures between 66 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit and between 19 to 30 degrees Celcius.

How to Install a Strip Thermometer?

To install a strip thermometer, you will need a glass cleaner, lint-free towel and a credit card. Installing a strip thermometer inside an aquarium will help you ensure the temperature of the water aptly. You need to ensure that it is neither too hot nor too cold.  Any change in the temperature might harm your fish, coral and even your marine plants. Once you monitor the water temperature with a strip thermometer, you can avoid any such issues. The installation takes just a few minutes, after which you can remove it if you do not want it to be attached permanently.
